Abstract

Objective To explore the regulatory effect of the"New Online Balint Group"model on depressive symptoms among resident trainees.Methods A total of 118 clinical postgraduate students undergoing standardized resident training at Beijing Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine,affiliated with Capital Medical University,were screened using the Self-Rating Depression Scale(SDS).Participants with a standard score≥53 were recruited,and 32 were included in a 6-week intervention using the"New Online Balint Group"model.Changes in scores of the Self-Rating Depression Scale(SDS),Self-Rating Anxiety Scale(SAS),Maslach Burnout Inventory-Human Services Survey(MBI-HSS),and Coping Style Questionnaire(CSQ)before and after the intervention were compared.Results After the 6-week intervention,there was a significant reduction in SDS and SAS scores(P<0.01),and a decrease in the"emotional exhaustion"and"depersonalization"subscales of the MBI-HSS(P<0.01 and P<0.05,respectively).The CSQ showed an increase in"rationalization"scores(P<0.05),and a decrease in"seeking help"and"fantasizing"scores(P<0.05).Conclusion The"New Online Balint Group"model significantly improved anxiety and depressive symptoms,reduced professional burnout,and enhanced proactivity in problem-solving among medical resident trainees.
