Abstract
Through close physical observations and X-ray inspections of a round tripod Ding and a Lei among the early Shang bronze relics excavated from the Qianzhuang site in Pinglu,Shanxi Province,it has been found that both bronze vessels were formed through monoblock casting process, and the casting process prominently used the horizontal splitting process, spacers, and the setting of the bottom mold process, and the motifs were mainly made in three ways:modeling, scraping the wall and reducing the ground after carving the outline, and molding. The results of this study advance the earliest use of spacers and tripods'bottom mold in the Zhongyuan area to the second phase of the Upper Erligang period, and provide an important reference for discussing the origin of these two processes.关键词
