Abstract
So far,there are two deviations in the interpretation of Li Zehou's aesthetic ideas.One view mainly held by do-mestic scholars overemphasizes Li Zehou's development of aesthetic theory on Marxism and his theory's dependence on Western aesthetics for reference,while neglecting its absorption of traditional Chinese aesthetic ideas.However,another view is dominant abroad,which emphasizes the absorption of Confucianism in Li Zehou's aesthetic thoughts,but overlooks the Taoist origins contained in his thoughts.Centering on the Four Lectures on Aesthetics,the study reveals that Li Zehou's aesthetic theory is characterized by the complementary fusion of Western ideas and the essence of Confucianism and Tao-ism.His aesthetic theory follows or even goes beyond the principle of"the integration of Western practices and ideas into Chinese reality",and on the basis of borrowing Western ideas and absorbing Chinese thoughts of Confucianism and Taoism,he has embarked on a path of theoretical construction with Chinese characteristics.Well-grounded on national cultural con-fidence and an open and inclusive mentality,such practice of establishing China's own theories by creatively utilizing na-tional cultural resources from a cross-cultural perspective still points the way forward for the development of aesthetics in China today.关键词
