Research Progress and Prospect of Magnetic Sail Propulsion Technology

磁帆是一种基于太阳风等离子体的新型推进技术,它通过大尺度线圈产生磁场来偏折太阳风等离子体从而产生推力,在长周期行星际航行任务中具有重要的应用潜力.由于磁帆相比常规电推进具有更高的比冲和推功比,近几年随着木星等行星探测任务的发展,其逐渐成为行星际无工质推进技术的研究热点.本文介绍了磁帆推力的产生原理,阐述了磁帆小型化设计研究历程,总结了其数值分析和实验技术主要特点,比较了不同任务场景中磁帆的应用效果,最后提出磁帆的主要技术瓶颈及未来潜在发展方向,为我国磁帆技术研究提供参考.

Magnetic sail is an advanced propulsion method based on solar wind plasma.It deflects the solar wind plasma to generate thrust by a magnetic field from a large-scale coil.Because magnetic sail has a higher propulsion impulse and thrust power ratio than conventional electric propulsion,it has important application potential in long-period interplanetary missions.With the development of planetary exploration missions such as Jupiter in recent years,magnetic sails have gradually attracted researchers'interest in propulsion technology.This paper introduces the principle of magnetic sail,the calculation of its thrust,and the research process of magnetic sail miniaturization design.It summarizes the numerical analysis method and main experimental results in magnetic sail,comparing with the application of magnetic sail in different tasks.Finally,it outlines the main technical barriers and future potential development direction of magnetic sail,which provides a reference for the research of magnetic sail in China.
