Abstract
To understand the current status of vegetation ecology, analyze the influencing factors of vegetation changes, and provide a scientific basis for regional ecological environment management and planning, this study investigated the spatial-temporal variation characteristics and driving forces of Normalized Difference Vegetation Index(NDVI)in the Mu Us Sandy Land using MODIS data and meteorological data, employing methods such as Theil-Sen trend analysis,Mann-Kendall trend test, and Hurst exponent. The results showed that the overall annual average NDVI in the Mu Us Sandy Land exhibited a fluctuating upward trend with a growth rate of 0.007/a.The spatial distribu-tion displayed a gradual increase from northwest to southeast. In the future, the NDVI in the Mu Us Sandy Land is predicted to mainly exhibit an inverse trend, accounting for 71.66%of the area. Both NDVI and precipitation and average temperature exhibited positive correlations. The vegetation in the Mu Us Sandy Land tends to improve, yet there is a potential for future degradation.Precipitation is i-dentified as the dominant factor influencing vegetation growth in the Mu Us Sandy Land.关键词
