摘要

Abstract

This study conducted afforestation experiments with 5-year-old seedlings of Picea mon-golica on various soil types selected from the Minqin Sandy Botanical Garden.Additionally,afforesta-tion experiments with 5-year-old and 12-year-old seedlings were also conducted under the same site conditions.Through the investigation of survival rates and growth increments,a technical plan suitable for the afforestation of Picea mongolica in the arid region of Minqin was summarized.The re-sults show that the suitable soil type for the afforestation of Picea mongolica in Minqin is sandy loam.The appropriate seedling size for afforestation is seedlings older than 5 years,which would make the survival rate of transplanted seedlings with soil significantly improved.The suitable afforestation time for bare-root seedlings is the end of April in spring,while transplantation with soil balls can be per-formed in either spring or autumn.Summer is not suitable for afforestation due to excessively high temperatures.
