Abstract
Wind erosion,water erosion,surface damage,and grassland degradation are the main causes of soil erosion and deterioration of water ecological environment in small and medium-sized watersheds in northwest Xinjiang.This paper takes a water and soil conservation project at a canal head in Xinjiang from 2018 to 2021 as an example.Through analyzing the natural conditions of the project area,the status of soil erosion and prevention before treatment,the project overview,and project benefits,suggestions for strengthening water and soil conservation work are proposed.By establishing a pattern of soil and water conservation work led by the Party committee,responsible by the government,coordinated by departments,and jointly participated by the whole society,the functions and benefits of soil and water conservation can be continuously improved,laying a solid foundation for harmonious coexistence between humans and nature and sustainable green development.关键词
