Abstract
High fill retaining walls have always been a major challenge in slope engineering with high costs and construction difficulties.In order to optimize and solve these problems,this paper introduce a new type of retaining wall-self-balance retaining wall,establish a calculation model based on force analysis,and compare the stress and cost of a practical project with traditional retaining wall.The results show that the idea using upper gravity retaining wall as the resistance of lower retaining wall is clever and reasonable,the self-balance retaining wall has a very wide scope of application rarely relying on anchoring conditions,the cost of self-balance retaining walls is about 50％of that of cantilever pile retaining walls under the same conditions,with significant economic benefits and good application prospects.关键词
