Abstract

Battery-grade lithium carbonate is an important raw material for producing lithium-ion batteries.With the popularization of new energy vehicles,the price of lithium carbonate has skyrocketed.Therefore,recovering lithium from lithium containing waste has high economic value.This article studies the process of leaching lithium from aluminum electrolysis waste and preparing battery grade lithium carbonate.Research has shown that using 8 mol/L hydrochloric acid to leach aluminum electrolysis waste can achieve a lithium leaching rate of 95.6% .Subsequently,impurities were removed,lithium-containing solutions were concentrated,and lithium was precipitated to obtain crude lithium carbonate.Finally,the crude lithium carbonate was carbonized and recrystallized to obtain battery grade lithium carbonate.The profit of preparing battery grade lithium carbonate products from aluminum electrolysis waste is about 3300 RMB/t,and this process is expected to be applied in practical production.
