Development and application of a digital twin model for emergency water pollution incidents in Danjiangkou Reservoir Project

Abstract
Considering the vast surface area,long shoreline,dispersed and varied types of pollution sources characteristic of Danjiangkou Reservoir,a two-dimensional hydrodynamic and water quality mechanism model of Danjiangkou Reservoir was independently developed based on the finite volume method.Furthermore,a two-dimensional"oil particle"stochastic model for Danjiangkou Reservoir was independently developed based on the Lagrangian particle tracking method.By integrating the mechanism and stochastic models,rapid construction of emergency water pollution scenarios at any location,for different types of pollution,and under various discharge conditions in Danjiangkou Reservoir was achieved.The simulation includes the movement of the water flow and the transport,dispersion process of the pollutants within the reservoir area,providing real-time outputs of the pollution plume's leading-edge trajectory,distance to Taocha,and estimated arrival time.Utilizing"Cloudscape"digital twin simulation and visualisation platform,the computational results were visualized and successfully applied in multiple emergency water pollution accident responses in Danjiangkou Reservoir,providing strong technical support for South-to-North Water Diversion Middle Route Project in addressing emergency water pollution incidents and ensuring water quality.关键词
