Research on the Current Status of Licensed Pharmacists' Participation in Continuing Education Online Training and Their Training Needs in Beijing

Abstract
Objective To provide a reference for improving the quality of continuing education training for licensed pharmacists in China.Methods The basic information of licensed pharmacists practicing in training on the Continuing Education Platform for Licensed Pharmacists of the National Medical Products Administration Institute of Executive Development in Beijing from 2021 to 2023 were collected,the data such as daily views of the platform and learning duration of users were counted.The needs for continuing education training of licensed pharmacists in various pharmacies and pharmaceutical trading enterprises in Beijing were investigated by the WeChat mini program of Questionnaire Star.Results A total of 4864 licensed pharmacists were included,most of them with educational background of bachelor's degree(3098 ones,63.69%),major of pharmacy(2421 ones,49.77%),practice period of more than five to ten years(2505 ones,51.50%);most of licensed pharmacists worked in pharmaceutical trading enterprises(3497 ones,71.90%).The continuing education platform had a high daily views from 08:00 to 17:30,and there were more users who studied for>4 h every day(199 ones).At the initial period of online training each year,users had a high learning enthusiasm,but then it decreased to varying degrees.The licensed pharmacists'rating in the professional courses of continuing education was(96.59±0.58)points,which was significantly higher than(95.47±0.44)points in the required public courses.A total of 21530 effective opinions on training needs were collected,mainly teaching content,format and teaching staff;the top three opinions were to add traditional Chinese medicine courses(2819 opinions),invite clinical experts from grade-A tertiary hospitals to teach(2608 opinions),and invite excellent pharmacists from pharmacies to teach(1963 opinions).Conclusion The continuing education online training mode is relatively single,and some licensed pharmacists'participation in continuing education is a mere formality.It is recommended to increase the face-to-face teaching,carry out the practical continuing education,set the professional courses with different difficulties based on the licensed pharmacists'levels to effectively improve the quality of continuing education training for licensed pharmacists in China.关键词
