摘要

Abstract

Proton exchange membrane (PEM) electrolyzers can convert electrical energy into hydrogen through hydrolysis reaction.The actual water electrolysis involves complex interactions of heat transfer,mass transfer and electrochemical reactions. Developing theoretical models can reveal the influence of these processes on water electrolysis performance,providing guidance for the design and optimization of electrolyzers.Theoretical models of electrochemistry,mass transport and gas-liquid two-phase of PEM electrolyzer are summarized,the current status of model development and the existing issues such as unclear understanding of gas-liquid flow and ion transport phenomena are discussed.It is discussed that the difficulties of complicated computations and insufficient precision should be solved in the subsequent model construction.
