摘要

Abstract

Compressor motor is the core equipment of Compressed Air Energy Storage(CAES)power station.The compressor motors used in 300 MW CAES power station are mostly synchronous motors with large capacity,large quantity which need variable frequency starting.Its relay protection scheme is quite different from conventional power plant motors.In response to the above characteristics,this article studies the operation mode and relay protection scheme of compressor motors,proposes two differential protection schemes based on broadband current transformers and magnetic balanced current transformers,and verifies them through projects.The conclusion is that for compressor motors running at rated frequency with variable frequency starting,all the protection functions should be implemented by the inverter during starting stage,and the motor differential protection should be put into operation while running;The differential protection scheme based on broadband current transformers is preferred for the last compressor motor in variable frequency operation.
