Abstract

To effectively evaluate the asymmetric liquid transport performance of high surface density fiber fab-rics,based on the liquid adsorption mechanism of porous materials and the Langmuir equation,established an asymmetric transport of liquid test system and an asymmetric transport of liquid model after theoretical analysis of asymmetric liquid transport behavior.Two categories of 17 samples were tested,yielding characteristic param-eters of liquid transport behavior such as maximum absorption rate,average absorption rate,terminal absorption rate,relative water content,and asymmetric transport of liquid index,which were compared and analyzed against results from a moisture management tester.The results showed that for Janus fiber fabrics samples with an accumulative one-way transport capacity ranging from 28.4 to 680.2,the corresponding asymmetric transport of liquid was 21.0 to 437.4,with both indices exhibiting a consistent change pattern that closely followed varia-tions in sample wetting gradients and differential capillary effect structures.Additionally,as the surface density of uniform structure fiber fabric samples increased from 162.6 to 375.8 g/m²,the accumulative one-way trans-port capacity rose from 191.1 to 2177.6,while the asymmetric transport of liquid fluctuated within the range of-68.0 to 45.0.The constructed asymmetric transport of liquid test system and asymmetric transport of liquid mod-el provide an effective means to assess the asymmetric liquid transport behavior of fiber fabrics with varying sur-face density,enriching the evaluation methods for functional fiber fabrics and providing a testing tool for the structural design and new product development of novel Janus fiber fabrics.
