Abstract

The excessive concentration of Al3+in printing and dyeing wastewater not only damages the ecological environment,but also poses a threat to human health.Therefore,the precise detection of Al3+concentration in printing and dyeing wastewater is of great significance.In this paper,a novel fluorescent probe RhB-AC was synthesized by two steps using Rhodamine B,hydrazine hydrate and benzaldehyde as the starting material.The chemical structure of RhB-AC was characterized by high resolution mass spectrum(HRMS)and nuclear magnetic resonance hydrogen spectroscopy(1H NMR).In water,probe RhB-AC was non-fluorescent due to the photoinduced electron transfer(PET)effect.Upon the treatment with Al3+,the PET effect was inhibited,thus releasing a bright cyan emission.Moreover,RhB-AC exhibited the fast response(within 3 s),high selectivity and excellent sensitivity(LOD=16 nM)to Al3+.Finally,probe RhB-AC was suitable for the rapid,accurate and reliable detection of Al3+in real dyeing wastewater samples.
