Rural Entrepreneurship Development in China:Index Construction and Measurement Analysis

Abstract
Encouraging rural entrepreneurship is a key strategy for promoting rural revitalization in China,however,there is a lack of comprehensive research on the development level and spatiotemporal characteristics of rural entrepreneurship in China.This paper con-structs a rural entrepreneurship indicator system with two primary indicators,seven secondary indicators,and 21 tertiary indicators.U-sing this system,we calculate the rural entrepreneurship indices for counties,cities,and provinces in China from 2014 to 2021.We analyze their development trends and spatial characteristics.The results show that rural entrepreneurship in China has been booming,but there are regional disparities.The level of entrepreneurship in rural revitalization demonstration counties is significantly higher than that in other counties,and the growth rate of entrepreneurship in national key support counties is significantly higher than that in non-key support counties.There is an obvious spatial clustering of rural entrepreneurship activities and a trend of regional convergence.The rural entrepreneurship index developed in this paper has been made publicly available,providing foundational data for further research on rural entrepreneurship in China.关键词
