Development of Virtual Reality System for High-speed Train Side Wall Welding

Abstract
The side wall is the main component of the high-speed train body.Due to its complex welding process and expensive professional equipment,enterprises need to continuously cultivate skilled employees to meet production requirements.However,conventional on-site personnel training methods occupy professional production equipment,reduce enterprise production efficiency,and it is difficult to achieve good training results.In order to meet the needs of enterprises for the cultivation and training of professional welding personnel,based on virtual reality technology,a welding workshop and card loading tool model are established through 3ds Max,and LOD technology is used to reduce memory usage.Relying on the Unity3D virtual reality engine to build a simulation environment,using C#programming language to develop system functions,and applying bounding box algorithm to optimize the welding process demonstration.Based on the welding process of aluminum alloy side walls,a virtual reality system for high-speed train side wall welding is developed and completed.Practice shows that the developed system includes functions such as knowledge assessment,operation interaction,and result display,which has good practicality,visibility,and immersion.It can effectively meet the training requirements of high-speed train manufacturing personnel,while ensuring the production efficiency of the enterprise during the training period and reducing the occurrence of accidents.关键词
