Abstract

In this paper,farmland soil near the gold mine of western Henan was taken as the research object;the land accumulation index method and potential ecological risk index method were used to evaluate the characteristics of heavy metal pollution in soil;and the absolute principal component analysis-multiple linear regression(APCS-MLR)model and the positive matrix factorization(PMF)model were used to quantitatively analyze the sources of heavy metal pollution in soil.The results showed:The measured content of each of As,Hg,Cr,Cu,Cd,and Pb in the soil exceeded the background values of the region.The results of geo-accumulation index and potential ecological risk index showed that the overall heavy metal pollution in the soil was moderate,with high pollution or serious pollution(maximum value)of Hg and Cd,light pollution of As and Cr,and moderate pollution of Cu and Pb.Compared with the PMF model,the APCS-MLR model was more suitable for source apportionmentof element in the study area.The sources were divided into industrial and agricultural activities,the nature,and the atmospheric sedimentation.The main contribution of Hg,Cu,and Cd were from the industrial and agricultural activities,being 57%,79%,and 88%,respectively;the main contribution of As and Cr are from the nature,being 68%and 60%,respectively;and Pb was jointly determined by the sources of industrial and agricultural activities(52%)and atmospheric sedimentation(45%).This research can provide scientific basis for soil pollution control,soil remediation,and sustainable utilization of farmland in the western Henan.
