Trends of Debilitation in Elderly Patients Undergoing Colorectal Cancer Surgery:A Longitudinal Qualitative Study
摘要
Abstract
Objective:To understand the trend of frailty during perioperative and postoperative adjuvant therapy in elderly patients undergoing colorectal cancer surgery,and provide empirical evidence for reversing frailty and improving health out-comes of patients.Methods:Objective sampling method was used to select 16 elderly patients with colorectal tumor undergoing gastrointestinal surgery for semi-structured inter-views.The longitudinal qualitative research method was used to collect cross-sectional data for several times and conduct longitudinal coherent analysis.Results:Through semi-struc-tured interview and Groningen Frailty Indicator(GFI),a total of 4 frailty themes and corresponding 8 sub-themes were ex-tracted:Changes in physical debilitation(trend towards recov-ery,diversified causes of harm),changes in psychological de-bilitation(positive emotional adjustment,negative psychological change),changes in social debilitation(access to internal and external support,lack of effective help from peers),changes in cognitive debilitation(self-ability affirmation,self-effi-cacy reduction).Conclusion:The development of frailty in elderly patients undergoing colorectal cancer surgery presents different trends.Clinical medical staff should identify the frailty trend as soon as possible,clarify the frailty category,clear multi-dimensional interaction,and implement predictive nursing with multi-mode intervention programs.关键词
