Experience of national famous TCM practitioner WEN Jianmin in treating after hallux valgus surgery

Abstract
Hallux valgus refers to the abnormal eversion of the hallux beyond the normal physiological range,which is one of the most common forefoot deformities.Professor Wen Jianmin uses an integrated approach of Chinese and Western medicine with minimally invasive techniques to treat hallux valgus.Based on the"two-stage fracture treatment"concept in pathology,he comprehensively considers the patient's preoperative"liver and kidney deficien-cy,imbalance of yin and yang",early postoperative"blood stasis and water retention,fracture and tendon injury",and later"liver and kidney deficiency,tendons and bones not strong"basic pathogenesis.Following the principles of treating both symptoms and root causes,he fully releases the lateral structures during surgery,and applys liver and kidney reinforcing,bone and tendon strengthening medicines after surgery.His patients are advised to avoid long pe-riods of standing and walking to reduce recurrence of hallux valgus.In order to accelerate postoperative recovery of hallux valgus and reduce complications,Yugu No.1 formula is used early to activate blood circulation and drain dampness,and Yugu No.2 formula is used later to tonify the liver and kidney and strengthen tendons and bones.关键词
