Abstract
Objective To explore the effect of staged intervention based on the"Timing It Right(TIR)"theory on postoperative prognosis of patients with tongue cancer,aiming to provide a reference for improving patients'quality of life.Methods A total of 60 inpatients with tongue cancer were selected by convenience sampling who underwent surgical treatment in the Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Department at Affiliated Stomatological Hospital of Nanjing Medical University from January to December 2022.They were divided into the observation group(n=30)and the control group(n=30)according to the order of admission.Patients in the control group were given routine nursing,while those in the observation group were additionally given TIR theory-based staged intervention.Both groups were intervened until 3 months after discharge.The quality of life,functional rehabilitation degree(swallowing function,speech intelligibility and neck-shoulder function)and emotional status were compared between the two groups.Results After the intervention,the observation group exhibited superior scores compared to the control group(P<0.05),including quality of life as per Functional Assessment of Cancer Therapy-Head and Neck(FACT-H&N),water swallow test,speech intelligibility,neck and shoulder function as per Constant-Murley Score(CMS)and anxiety and depression as per Hospital Anxiety and Depression Scale(HADS).Conclusion The TIR theory-based staged intervention enhances quality of life,advances postoperative functional rehabilitation and reduces negative emotions in patients with tongue cancer.These benefits contribute to faster rehabilitation and better prognosis in these patients.关键词
