Development Path of Bamboo Industry in Areas with Weak Industrial Foundation and Resources Scarcity in Yunnan Province:A Case Study of Hekou County

Abstract
"Bamboo as a substitute for plastic"initiative provides a natural-based solution for global plastic pollution control and brings opportunities for the development of China's bamboo industry.Yunnan province has superior climate conditions suitable for the growth of various bamboo plants,making it the region with the most abundant bamboo plants in China.However,the bamboo industry in Yunnan province has just begun in its development,characterized with scattered distribution of bamboo resources,large share of small-sized enterprises,and poor market competitiveness.The"bamboo as a substitute for plastic"initiative faces the problems such as relative resources scarcity and weak industrial foundation.The paper takes Hekou county in Yunnan province as a case to explore the path of bamboo industry development in areas with a low stock of bamboo resources and weak industrial foundation.For promoting the development of bamboo industry,Hekou county is supposed to leverage the advantages of ports,work out a planning for bamboo resource bases,attract the investment of export-oriented enterprises,develop the secondary industry in line with local conditions,support and encourage the production and consumption of bamboo products,promote the integration of bamboo industry and cultural tourism industry,strengthen scientific research and industrial innovation capabilities,and provide solid foundations for the development of bamboo industry.关键词
