Abstract
Objective:This study aims to evaluate and contrast the clinical outcomes of heated humidified high-flow nasal cannula(HHFNC)therapy versus non-invasive positive pressure ventilation(NIPPV)in patients with acute type Ⅰ respiratory failure.Methods:A total of 68 patients diagnosed with respiratory failure were enrolled from the EICU at Yangzhou University Affiliated Hospital between June 2021 and June 2023.These patients were randomly assigned to either the routine care group(34 patients receiving NIPPV)or the experimental group(34 patients trea-ted with HHFNC).The study focused on comparing vital signs and the severity of dyspnea between the two groups.Results:Post-treatment,the experimental group showed significant improvements in heart rate,respira-tory rate,and arterial oxygen partial pressure compared to the routine group,P<0.05.Additionally,over the course of 1、2 and 3 weeks,the dyspnea scores in the experimental group were markedly lower than those in the routine group,P<0.05.Conclusion:Compared with non-invasive positive pressure ventilation,heating and humidi-fying high-flow nasal catheter oxygen therapy is more effective in patients with acute type Ⅰ respiratory failure,which can stabilize the vital signs of patients and improve the symptoms of dyspnea.关键词
