Abstract
Objective:This study aimed to explore the categories and characteristics of female pornography users.Meth-ods:A total of 679 Chinese female adults with a mean age of 26.57 years(SD=8.66)who reported using pornography in the past year were assessed using the brief pornography screen(BPS),moral disapproval of pornography use(MDPU),frequency of pornography use,brief symptom inventory,and pornography-use motivations scale.Latent profile analysis was conducted using Mplus software,and network analysis was performed with R software.Results:(1)Two distinct subgroups were identi-fied:the non-problematic low-frequency pornography use with low moral disapproval group(NLF-LMD,accounting for 56.8％of individuals)and the problematic high-frequency pornography use with low moral disapproval group(PHF-LMD,accounting for 43.2％of individuals).(2)Distinct patterns of pornography use emerged between the two groups.In the NLF-LMD group,BPS,MDPU,and pleasure-seeking motives formed one community,indicating that the main risk for this group was the enjoyment of the pleasure derived from pornography.In contrast,in the PHF-LMD group,BPS and MDPU were linked with coping motives,suggesting that these users predominantly engaged in pornography use to manage negative emo-tions.Conclusion:There are two distinct subgroups among female pornography users,each characterized by different be-havioral drivers of pornography use.This underscores the need for targeted prevention and intervention measures.关键词
