The Effect of Cyber-victimization on Negative Emotions:the Mediating Role of Perceived Severity and Moderating Role of Machiavellianism
目的:探讨网络受欺凌对消极情绪的影响,以及感知严重性的中介作用和马基雅维利主义的调节作用.方法:研究1以557名在校大学生为研究对象,采用问卷调查法考察网络受欺凌与消极情绪的关系;研究2通过实验法考察网络受欺凌对消极情绪的影响.结果:(1)研究1显示网络受欺凌和消极情绪显著正相关;感知严重性在二者关系中起中介作用;马基雅维利主义在隐匿身份欺凌和感知严重性关系中起调节作用:对高马基雅维利主义个体而言,隐匿身份欺凌对感知严重性的预测作用不显著;对低马基雅维利主义个体而言,隐匿身份欺凌显著正向预测感知严重性.(2)研究2验证了感知严重性在网络受欺凌和消极情绪间的中介作用.结论:感知严重性是网络受欺凌者产生消极情绪的近端因素,个体对隐匿身份欺凌严重性的感知受马基雅维利主义影响.
Objective:To explore the effect of cyber-victimization on negative emotions and the role of perceived severi-ty and Machiavellianism.Methods:In study 1,557 undergraduates were recruited to complete Cyber Victim Scale,Machia-vellianism Personality Scale,Cyberbullying Severity Scale and Negative Affect Scale to explore the effect of cyber-victim-ization on negative emotions.Study 2 used a single-factor between-subject experimental design(cyber-victimization:exper-imental condition vs control condition)to investigate the causal relationship between cyber-victimization and negative emo-tions.Results:(1)The results of Study 1 showed that cyber-victimization was significantly positively related to negative emotions,and perceived severity played a mediating role in the relationship between them.(2)The relationship between hid-den identity and perceived severity was moderated by Machiavellianism.For high Machiavellians,hidden identity had no significant effect on perceived severity,while for low Machiavellians,hidden identity significantly positively predicted per-ceived severity.(3)Study 2 also found the mediating role of perceived severity.Conclusion:Compared with cyber-victim-ization,perceived severity is a proximal factor affecting victims'negative emotions.
