Abstract

Objective To construct a three-dimensional digital model of the female anal sphincter complex by using magnetic resonance imaging(MRI)data and rebuilding technique,and explore its significance.Methods The anal canal of healthy female volunteers was scanned using a 3.0T MRI.The acquired DICOM 3.0 data sets were imported into Mimics 21.0 software for three-dimensional geometric model construction.Results A three-dimensional geometric model of the anal sphincter complex was successfully constructed.The model exhibited high fidelity,with an anterior defect in the puborectalis muscle resembling a"U"shape,and a thickening of the external anal sphincter posteriorly.The model could be scaled and rotated 360°,facilitating the observation and understanding of the anatomical morphology of the anal sphincter complex.Conclusions A three-dimensional geometric model of the anal sphincter complex can be constructed based on anal canal MRI data and computer-aided three-dimensional reconstruction software.This model can assist in anatomical teaching,facilitate the clinical diagnosis and evaluation of anal canal diseases such as anal fistula,and provide a basis for further mechanical analysis.
