Abstract
This article examines the newly discovered"Dachong mining sites,"a relatively large scale mining heritage complex that has not suffered from the impact of mechanical mining,discovered during the general survey of industrial heritage in Gejiu.The relevant sites and relics are identified and marked based on multiple-evidence based methods,including tracing its mining history via literature review,using oblique photography techniques to produce survey drawings;and,categorizing them into mining sites(including Grass Pits Ruins,Cave Pits Ruins,Gully Pits Ruins)and architectural sites.The analysis from a cultural landscape perspective highlights its characteristics of"long-term interaction between humans and nature"and"mutual confirmation of tangible and intangible elements,"and illustrates these concepts with a dynamic change diagram.The core values of the"Dachong mining sites"are distilled through three dimensions:as a testament to mining technology,an important industrial cultural landscape,and a heritage of association,culminating in recommendations for holistic preservation.关键词
