Abstract

In the dry dust removal system of a 300 ton converter in a certain steel plant,the evaporative cooler adopts steam atomization,which has poor atomization effect,high concentration of smoke and dust in the flue gas,and high risk of chimney smoke during operation.In addition,the cost of using steam atomization is high,which is not conducive to energy cost and energy consumption control.By establishing finite element models of the evaporative cooling tower and nitrogen atomization spray gun,CFD numerical analysis was conducted on the basic flow field inside the evaporative cooling tower to study the velocity field distribution,streamline distribution,position,and size of the reflux zone inside the tower.According to the distribution of the basic flow field,it is recommended that the spray system use 24 nitrogen gas guns and nitrogen medium.Through CFD simulation,the effects of different gun length,tilt angle and spray gun water flow rate on the location and area of the wet wall of the evaporative cooling tower were simulated,and a spray gun layout scheme with a gun length of 650 mm and a spray angle of 120°was proposed.The practical application effect is good,and the dust accumulation on the inner wall of the evaporative cooling tower is significantly improved.The cleaning cycle for accumulated dust has been extended from one month to three months,making the outlet temperature of the evaporative cooling tower more stable and reducing steam energy consumption.
