Abstract

Improving the reliability of ladle turret reducer of continuous casting machine rotating tower has great significance for the security of continuous production of steel casting machine.A continuous casting machine rotating tower reducer operating process often occurs bevel gear shaft fracture at the input part,by analyzing the fracture to understand its fatigue condition,the cause of fracture is low cycle rotational bending fatigue fracture,and there is significant stress concentration at the fracture site,resulting in excessive load beyond the fatigue limit of the shaft.To reduce the stress concentration and fatigue cracks,this paper optimizes the geometric parameters of the bevel gear shaft,increases the transition fillet,and reduces the surface roughness of the fillet area.Through the finite element simulation,the optimized bevel gear shaft can reduce the stress concentration by about 45%and the deformation displacement by about 30%under the rated and ultimate working conditions,which meet the fatigue calibration under rated and extreme working conditions.
