Abstract

In maritime communication scenarios characterized by sparse and dynamically independent small local area networks,this paper proposes a maritime wireless communication system based on phased array antennas.The system employs dynamic beam pointing for single spot beams from a central phased array antenna to provide beam coverage for small stations in specific spatial directions,enabling space division multiple access(SDMA).This approach offers broad coverage and flexible network configuration,making it suitable for dynamic and sparse maritime communication environments.The study focuses on beam-pointing switching technique for SDMA access,introducing a method based on position information and time-slot allocation.This method calculates beam direction information from real-time position data of the central and small stations and adjusts the beam direction at the start of each time slot.Implementation on a system-on-chip field-programmable gate array demonstrates that the proposed method achieves precise spot beam alignment based on position information and completes beam-pointing switching within 1 ms,supporting multiple high-speed data streams simultaneously.
