Research Progress on the Value Framework and Evaluation Methods for Livestock and Poultry Genetic Resources

Abstract
Livestock and poultry genetic resources are strategic assets to ensure the effective supply of animal products for a country,serving as the material foundation for original innovation in animal husbandry science and technology and the development of the modern seed industry.Carrying out the value assessment of livestock and poultry genetic resources is a realistic choice to promote the protection,development and utilization of livestock and poultry genetic resources in China.This article reviews the application of the genetic resource value framework and three types of evaluation methods,such as direct market approach.It also critiques the choice experiment method widely used in empirical studies on the evaluation of livestock and poultry genetic resources.Furthermore,it provides references and research directions for establishing an evaluation system for the value of livestock and poultry genetic resources in China.关键词
