Relationship between disease sense of benefit,Big Five personality and quality of life in breast cancer patients

Abstract
Objective:To preliminarily explore the role of perceived benefit finding in the relationship between the Big Five personality traits and quality of life in breast cancer patients,with the aim of providing a basis for the exploration of new nursing intervention measures.Methods:Through random sampling,232 breast cancer patients diagnosed and hospitalized in a tertiary hospital in Shaanxi Province were selected for a cross-sectional study using a questionnaire survey.A generalized linear regression model was used to analyze the interrelationships between the Big Five personality traits,perceived benefit finding,and quality of life,and mediation effect analysis was conducted to assess the mediating role of perceived benefit finding in the relationship between the Big Five personality traits and quality of life in breast cancer patients.Results:There was a positive correlation between the Big Five personality traits,perceived benefit finding,and quality of life in breast cancer patients(P<0.001).The results of the generalized linear regression analysis showed that compared with the low group of the Big Five personality traits,the high group of breast cancer patients had significantly higher life quality and perceived benefit finding(both P<0.001);for every one-point increase in perceived benefit,the quality of life increased by 0.31 points(P<0.001).The influence of the Big Five personality traits on quality of life may be mediated through an increase in perceived benefit finding,with a mediation effect of 25.57% .Conclusion:A high level of perceived benefit finding in breast cancer patients is associated with the Big Five personality traits and quality of life,and a higher level of perceived benefit finding helps to promote the improvement of quality of life by a high level of the Big Five personality traits.关键词
