Abstract
Taking the quasi-natural experiment of the establishment of the national big data comprehensive pilot zone in 2016 as the proxy variable of the digital economy,this paper uses the panel data of 30 provinces in China from 2008 to 2021 to evaluate the impact of digital economy development on regional innovation by using propensity score matching and differ-ence-in-difference method.The research finds that digital economy obviously promotes the development of regional innovation,and that this conclusion still holds after a series of robustness tests.The results of mechanism analysis show that digital economy can improve regional innovation capacity by increasing the level of R&D investment and financial deepening.The results of het-erogeneity analysis show that digital economy has a more significant effect on regional innovation in megacities and eastern re-gions,while regions with high R&D investment intensity also benefit more from the implementation of policies.关键词
