Identification of Key Genes and Pathways Involved in Subcutaneous Fat Deposition in Pigs Based on WGCNA Method

摘要

Abstract

Fat trait is one of the most important economic traits in pig industry.In this study,based on the gene expression data set GSE30343 of subcutaneous adipose tissue of lean pigs(Landrace pigs)and fatty pigs(Rongchang pigs)in the public GEO database.Weighted gene co-expression network analysis and other methods were used to explore key genes and signaling pathways related to pig fat deposition.The results showed that four gene co-expression modules were identified,among which the turquoise module was the most significant correlation module(r=0.94,P=5E-17)and eight key genes related to fat formation were identified.Eight key genes are GPAT,ACACA,ACLY,SCD,FASN,ACSS2,ME1 and SCD5,respectively.These genes are mainly involved in organic acid metabolism synthesis,fatty acid metabolism synthesis,AMPK and other signaling pathways.This study found some important genes related to fat deposition between different fat types of pigs,which provided potential candidate genes for genetic improvement of fat trait in pigs by molecular technology.
