Professor Song Liqun's Experience in Treating Nutcracker Syndrome from a Spleen and Kidney Perspective

Abstract
Nutcracker syndrome belongs to the category of"kidney wind"in TCM.Professor Song Liqun combines clinical practice to treat it from the perspective of the spleen and kidneys.The pathological mechanism involves"kidney qi insecurity,yin deficiency with fire blazing;spleen deficiency resulting in bleeding,which becomes chronic and transforms into cold if the condition remains untreated;and blood stasis retained internally obstructing the meridians."Based on the color of urine and the urination status,combined with accompanying symptoms,individualized treatments are applied:Modified decoction of tonifying spleen and kidney is used to treat the pattern of spleen and kidney deficiency;modified heat clearing and yin nourishing decoction is employed to treat the pattern of yin deficiency with fire blazing;modified decoction of warming the spleen to support yang is utilized to treat spleen yang deficiency;and modified kidney unblocking and stasis resolving decoction is used to address static blood blocking the collaterals.His treatment strategies emphasize strengthening the root and consolidating the source,prioritizing the spleen tonification.He also emphasizes to treat the tip under emergency condition,and emphasizes that one should be good at using astringents,be flexible in clinical decision-making and adapting to various symptoms in treating this condition.These practices have proven to be effective in clinical settings.关键词
