Research Progress on Mitochondria as a Target for Traditional Chinese Medicine in the Prevention and Treatment of Vitiligo
摘要
Abstract
Vitiligo is a refractory depigmentary skin disease caused by the damage and loss of melanocytes in the basal layer,characterized by well-defined islands of pigment loss on the skin and mucous membranes.In recent years,some researchers have proposed that mitochondria may be an important target in the pathogenesis of vitiligo.Multiple studies have shown that active components and compounds of traditional Chinese medicine(TCM)can protect melanocytes and promote repigmentation of vitiligo by regulating mitochondrial function.This paper reviews recent domestic and international literature on the pathological mechanisms of mitochondrial damage in vitiligo,summarizes the research on TCM based on mitochondrial oxidative stress,autophagy,apoptosis,and ferroptosis mechanisms in the prevention and treatment of vitiligo,aiming to provide a reference for clinical treatment and further in-depth research on vitiligo.关键词
