Abstract
Cholesteatoma of the middle ear is a benign tumor composed of keratinized fragments and squamous epithelium.Its prolonged existence can lead to hearing loss,facial paralysis,and even life-threatening conditions.Therefore,accurate diagnosis is crucial for treatment strategies and prognosis.Surgery is the most effective treatment option,the selection of surgical approach is primarily based on the extent and depth of cholesteatoma invasion,along with factors such as patient history,symptoms,and physical signs.This article reviews the pathological characteristics,treatment modalities,and clinical applications of various imaging techniques for middle ear cholesteatoma,with a particular focus on the potential and advancements of spectral computed tomography(CT)in the diagnosis and management of this condition,as well as to prospect the value of spectral CT.关键词
