摘要

Abstract

In this paper,the hydrological and meteorological characteristics of the Arabian Sea in the North Indian Ocean were analyzed,particularly focusing on the monsoon ocean current patterns in the area.On this basis,a two-dimensional tidal flow dynamics and thermal diffusion mathematical model was established.After calibration verification,numerical simulations were conducted to examine the thermal drainage diffusion of a coal-fired power plant in Gwadar,Pakistan,under different water intake and drainage layout schemes.The current direction in the Gwadar Sea area of Pakistan shows a seasonal and long-term unidirectional flow pattern,which aligns with the monsoon current characteristics in the North Indian Ocean region.The research results indicate that in order to ensure that the temperature does not exceed 3℃at 100 m from the discharge outlet,the following measures can be taken:adopting a multi-point dispersed drainage;increasing the water depth at the drainage outlet to enable sufficient vertical mixing of warm water;adjusting the drainage flow rate of the drainage outlet by applying principles of shallow water depth,low flow rate,deep water depth,and high flow rate,and fully utilizing the volume of warm water at each drainage outlet.Finally,the principles for optimizing the relative position of water intake and drainage outlets were also summarized,providing a scientific basis for the design of water intake and drainage engineering.
