Abstract
Objective:A systematic review of qualitative studies on the psychological experiences of breast cancer patients after mastectomy,providing a reference for improving mental health and establishing support systems for this population.Methods:A systematic search was conducted in both Chinese and foreign databases for qualitative studies on the psychological experiences of breast cancer patients after mastectomy,with a retrieval period from the inception of the databases to December 31,2022.The quality of the included studies was assessed using the Joanna Briggs Institute(JBI)evidence-based health center's quality appraisal criteria for qualitative research,and the results were synthesized using a Meta-aggregation approach.Results:A total of 13 studies were included,from which 53 research findings were extracted and categorized into 10 new categories.These were synthesized into 3 integrated results,they were deterioration in body image,impacts on psychological health and sexual life,adoption of positive coping strategies such as post-traumatic growth and breast reconstruction,and a range of challenges and difficulties faced by patients.Conclusion:Mastectomy affects the physical and mental health,as well as the social interactions of breast cancer patients,leading to a variety of psychological experiences.Healthcare professionals need to pay attention to patients'perceptions and experiences of mastectomy,encourage patients to cope with questions positively,and implement appropriate psychological interventions to alleviate or mitigate the distress caused by the mastectomy.Enhancing social support and improving the quality of life for these patients should be a focus.关键词
