Abstract
Objective To evaluate the effect of orthokeratology(OK)lenses in controlling the 5-year axial growth of myopia in adolescents and to analyze the factors influencing axial growth. Methods Retrospective case study was conduc-ted.The study retrospectively analysed 40 cases(80 eyes).A total of 40 adolescents with myopia who wore orthokeratology lenses were received orthokeratology treatment programme for myopia prevention and control. All patients treated with OK lenses, were followed up for more than 5 years.Changes in the Axial length(AL),Central corneal thickness(CCT),Pupil diameter(PD),and Visual quality(Strehl ratio,SR)were observed, and the main factors affecting axial growth were analyzed. Results After 5 years of lens wear, there were statistically significant difference in increased AL(0.72±0.50 mm,P<0.001),thinner CCT(12.29±13.88µm,P<0.001),decreased PD(0.14±0.39 mm,P<0.001),and decreased SR(0.05±0.07,P<0.001).The results showed that age,the degree of spherical equivalent(SE),and basal axial growth(post treatment-pre treatment)were negatively correlated(P<0.05),while the ratio of SR was positively correlated with axial growth(P<0.05).Conclusion Wearing OK lenses has obvious effection in controlling axial growth that teenagers with myopia. The amount of axial growth is correlated with age,AL,SR,SE at baseline and the change(before and after treatment)of SR.关键词
