《庄子》寓名翻译的跨文化交际视角
An Intercultural Perspective on the Translation of Names in Fables in Zhuangzi:Taking the Translation of the Fable Names in The Fulfilment of Virtue as an Example
摘要
Abstract
Zhuangzi is rich in fables,in which there are a lot of fabricated names with special characteristics.They are different from ordinary proper names of characters and play a unique role in understanding Zhuangzi 's thought.Based on a systematic study of the English versions of Zhuangzi by Chinese and foreign translators,it is found that Chinese and foreign translators have adopted different translation methods,such as transliteration,transliteration plus annotation,free translation,etc.The effect of these methods in dealing with the translation of fable names is worthy to be researched.Using the different translation versions of the fable names in The Fulfilment of Virtue for analysis and evaluating the effect of different translation methods from the perspective of intercultural communication,this re-search finds that there is a big difference in the quantity and quality of information conveyed to target language rea-ders by different translation methods,which has a negative or positive impact on the target language readers'under-standing of Zhuangzi,and in turn influences the intercultural communication effect of translation.关键词
