Efficacy of Multiple Acupoint to Acupoint Penetration Needling Combined with Thumbtack Needling in Treating Acute Bell's Palsy

Abstract
Objective:To observe the clinical efficacy of multiple acupoint to acupoint penetration needling combined with thumbtack needling in the treatment of acute Bell's palsy.Methods:Sixty patients with acute Bell's palsy meeting the inclusion criteria were randomly divided into a control group and an observation group,with 30 patients in each group.The control group received conventional Western medication,while the observation group was treated with multiple acupoint to acupoint penetration needling combined with thumbtack needling for 4 weeks.Changes in Sunnybrook Facial Nerve System scores,Facial Disability Index(FDI)scores,Portmann scores,and SAS anxiety scores were observed before and after treatment in both groups,and clinical efficacy was compared.Results:After treatment,the affected side Sunnybrook scores(P<0.01),Portmann scores(P<0.01),and FDI indices increased(P<0.01),while SAS anxiety levels decreased(P<0.01)in both groups,with the observation group showing significantly better results than the control group.The total clinical effective rate in the observation group was 93.3%(28/30),significantly higher than the control group's 76.7%(23/30),with a statistically significant difference(P<0.05).Conclusion:Multiple acupoint to acupoint penetration needling combined with thumbtack needling is effective in improving clinical symptoms,reducing negative emotions,and enhancing the quality of life in patients with acute Bell's palsy.关键词
