Abstract
Purpose:To analyze the incidents of adverse events related to disposable urinary catheters reported by grassroots units in our city in recent years and provide guidance for their correct clinical use.Methods:A retrospective study was conducted,analyzing 25 cases of adverse events related to disposable urinary catheters reported in our city from January 1,2021,to December 31,2023.Statistical analysis was performed based on the classification of catheters,material,intended treatment diseases,malfunction manifestations,degree of injury,disposition,and preliminary investigation.Result:Among the 25 reported cases,23 cases were of double-lumen balloon type,accounting for 92.00%.Malfunction manifestations included catheter blockage in 5 cases,balloon rupture in 4 cases,and liquid leakage in 4 cases,totaling 52.00%.Injury manifestations were observed in 7 cases,accounting for 28.00%,mainly presenting as erythema in 3 cases,and urinary frequency,tingling,rash,and discomfort in 1 case each.Conclusion:It is essential to select appropriate disposable urinary catheters according to the patient's condition,standardize operations,strengthen quality inspection,storage,transportation,and other links to reduce adverse events and improve safety in usage.关键词
