The Influence of Self-rated Health Status and Social Participation Among Rural Elderly from a Spatial Difference Perspective

采用中国健康与养老追踪调查(CHARLS)2018 年和2020 年两期数据,运用二元Logistic、Order Probit等模型,分析社会参与对农村老年人自评健康状况的影响及其空间差异,并利用倾向得分匹配(PSM)进行平衡性检验.结果表明:社会参与能显著提升农村老年人的自评健康状况;社会参与对提升农村老年人自评健康状况的促进作用存在明显空间差异,其中对促进西部地区农村老年人自评健康状况的提升效果最显著,其次是中部地区,最后是东部地区.据此提出要不断丰富农村老年人的生活内容、加强老年人的健康管理水平、通过政府引领、多方聚力,不断完善农村养老服务体系建设等建议,以期为提高农村老年人自评健康状况和其社会参与意愿提供参考,助力农村老年人乐享幸福晚年.

The study used 2 years of data from the China health and retirement longitudinal study(CHARLS)in 2018 and 2020.It applied binary Logistic and Order Probit models to analyze the impact of social participation on the self-assessed health status of rural elderly people and examined its spatial differences.Additionally,the study u-tilized the propensity score matching(PSM)method to conduct a balanced test.The results show that social partici-pation can significantly improve the self-assessed health of rural elderly people;there are obvious spatial differences in the role of social participation in improving the self-assessed health status of rural elderly people,with the most significant effect on improving the self-assessed health status of elderly people in rural areas in the west,followed by the central region,and finally the eastern region.On this basis,it is proposed that we should continue to enrich the life of the elderly people,strengthen their health management,and improve the construction of the rural pension service system through government leadership and the concerted efforts of all parties,to provide reference to the im-provement of the self-assessed health status of the rural elderly and their willingness to participate in the society,and to help the elderly people to enjoy a happy twilight life.
