Abstract

Recently,industrial wireless networks have been increasingly adopted in automated guided vehicle(AGV)applications.Current AGV communications primarily depend on Wi-Fi technology that employs contention-based access methods and thus cannot meet the requirement of ordered and reliable wireless transmission in harsh industrial environments.To this end,we investigate an or-dered and reliable retransmission method for wireless AGV systems based on WIA-FA.First,the communication system architecture and data transmission process of WIA-FA-based AGV systems are presented.A new superframe structure is designed to guarantee strictly ordered transmission.Then,on the basis of the new superframe,a sequential scheduling-based end-to-end retransmis-sion(SSER)strategy is proposed.SSER realizes on-demand transmission for uplink data and se-quential transmission for downlink data and supports the dynamic optimization of durations for up-link and downlink data phases.Simulation results show that SSER outperforms existing works in terms of transmission reliability under different network parameter settings,such as superframe length,number of nodes,and channel conditions.
