Basic Principles of Reinforced Concreteis a core foundational course in the field of civil engineering.Due to the depth of its theory and the complexity of its formula derivations,students often find it confusing and challenging,which affects the overall teaching effectiveness.In order to enhance the quality of teaching,increase the appeal and practicality of the course,the introduction of MATLAB software for teach-ing has become a worthwhile method to try.Through the use of MATLAB software,simulations of the design of the cross-section of double re-inforced concrete beams and the design of non-symmetrically reinforced rectangular section eccentrically compressed members were conducted.The combination of theoretical teaching with MATLAB software simulations not only improves the teaching effectiveness of the course,but also lays a solid foundation for students'future development.
