Effect of rosemary extract on slaughtering performance,liver lipid deposition,body immune,and antioxidant function in broilers

Abstract
The aim of this experiment is to determine the effects of rosemary extract(RE)on slaughter performance,meat quality,serum biochemical indices,immune function,antioxidant capacity,and liver lipid deposition in broilers.A total of 10 000 one-day-old broilers(half male and half female)were randomly divided into two groups with 10 replicates in each group and 500 broilers in each replicate.The control group was fed a basic diet,while the experimental group was fed the basic diet supplemented with 150 mg/kg of RE.The experiment lasted for 42 days.The results showed that compared with the control group,the abdominal fat weight,abdominal fat percentage and sebacome percentage of broilers in experimental group were significantly decreased(P<0.05),and the evisceration rate was significantly increased(P<0.05).Liver index was significantly decreased(P<0.05).Serum albumin(ALB)level was significantly decreased(P<0.05),immunoglobulin M(IgM)and immunoglobulin G(IgG)levels were significantly increased(P<0.05),interleukin-1β(IL-1β)and interleukin-6(IL-6)levels were significantly decreased(P<0.05).Serum malondialdehyde(MDA)content in experimental group was significantly lower than that in control group(P<0.05).Oil red staining showed that compared with the control group,the orange-red lipid droplets in the liver of experimental group were significantly reduced,and the blue nucleus was more clear.Studies have show that dietary RE can improve slaughtering performance,inhibit liver lipid deposition,and enhance immune function and antioxidant function of broilers.关键词
