Abstract
Burn injury is the second most common cause of accidental injury in children and a leading cause of disability,and refers to damage to the skin,upper airway,digestive tract,and other tissues caused by heat,physical,or chemical agents.In China,the mortality rate for burned children ranges from 0.13％to 6.29％,with younger ages associated with higher mortality.The main causes of death include shock,sepsis,electrolyte disturbance,brain injury,and multiple organ failure.Due to anatomical and physiological differences from adults,treating burns in children is complex and re-quires special consideration.This article discusses recent advancements in diagnosis,treatment,and early emergency management of severe burns in children intending to reduce mortality and disability rates through optimized early intervention.关键词
