Abstract
When conducting aerodynamic test of vehicles in a wind tunnel,the discrepancy between the vehicle's ride height in the tunnel and its actual ride height on the road results in differences between the measured aerodynamic data and the actual values.A method of simulating the actual ride height of vehicles on the road is explored in this study using the"floating mode"of the wind tunnel balance system to test the ride height and aerodynamic performance data of 9 different vehicles under initial fixed ride height,wheel rotation ride height,and actual road ride height.The impact of wheel rotation and aerodynamic lift/torque on vehicle ride height and aerodynamic performance is analyzed,and recommendations for minimizing the disparity between wind tunnel test data and actual road test data are provided.关键词
