城市集群发展的创新效应
The Innovative Effect of Urban Agglomeration:Based on the Perspective of Population Concentration and Factors Mobility
摘要
Abstract
To explore the innovative effects of urban agglomeration development in China, this study constructed three indicators of urban cluster degree from the perspectives of population size, population mobility, and material mobility within urban clusters, and conducted empirical research using panel data from 284 Chinese cities. The results based on two-stage least squares method are as below.Firstly, the development of urban agglomeration can significantly promote urban innovation. For every one standard error increase in population size, population mobility, and material mobility clustering, the urban innovation index will increase by 1.571%,1.257%,and 0.615%,respectively.Secondly,accelerating the accumulation of human capital and promoting industrial division of labor are important ways for urban agglomeration development to promote innovation, but excessively high household registration thresholds will significantly weaken the role of urban agglomeration development in enhancing innovation.Thirdly, the development of urban agglomeration has a more significant promoting effect on urban innovation in the central region, while its effect on improving the innovation level of cities in the eastern and western regions is relatively weak.Lastly, benefiting from the population agglomeration effect, the development of urban agglomeration has significantly improved the innovation level of central cities.Surrounding cities from outside often face the dilemma of human capital loss, and the innovation effect of urban cluster development is relatively small, even hindering local innovation development.关键词
